من نحن

The Yemeni Response Council (YRC) is an independent, non-profit civil society organization established on May 7, 2017, as a local Yemeni NGO. YRC aims to heed the call of the earth by protecting, preserving, and developing the environment, ensuring a reduction in suffering and promoting a high quality of life in Yemen, whether in emergency or non-emergency situations. Through its development and humanitarian initiatives centered on environmental and sustainable development, YRC seeks to uphold the values of culture, environmental stewardship, peace, transparency, and collaboration within society.

Grounded in environmental principles, the Council's various programs, plans, and strategies reflect this commitment. The YRC's strategic plan for 2024-2027 includes the establishment of the Environment and Climate Change Forum in Yemen, designed as a participatory platform that collaborates with multiple sectors of society to enhance the capabilities of national entities focused on environmental issues and coordination efforts. Currently, we are working on developing tools, expanding partnerships and communication, and facilitating knowledge exchange.

Today, YRC actively partners with the Ministry of Water and Environment in Yemen and leads the Environment and Climate Change Forum. Our efforts include encouraging civil society and the private sector to invest in low-carbon environmental initiatives, developing national policies, fostering community participation, and connecting environmental activities to poverty alleviation.

Vision

To create a resilient and sustainable Yemen where environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic justice empower communities to thrive, ensuring a high quality of life for all, even in the face of adversity.
